Ray Bailey 1952 – 2021
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Ray Bailey, a long standing member of our club. Ray started to feel unwell on Christmas Eve and later tested positive for Covid. Over the following week he became increasingly unwell and it resulted in him being admitted into hospital where he eventually lost his fight against this terrible virus. Ray was a loyal and hard working member of our club and none more so than when the church at Irwell Vale where we hold our club meetings was badly flooded in the storms a few years ago, he used his expertise as a plumber & heating engineer to renew the heating and toilets and typical of the man he did it without charging for his time. Ray was a passionate wildlife photographer and captured many stunning images both here in the UK and in India, a favourite place he visited over many years. A generous man he was always happy to share his knowledge and help others, especially those who were less experienced than himself. Ray is a great loss to our club and he will be sadly missed.
