Back to basics, by club member Barry Ogden

This workshop is intended for anyone new to photography or those who simply feel it’s all very complicated and use ”Programme” mode on their cameras most of the time.

We will look at what the various settings are and how they and your technique can either improve or spoil your picture. It doesn’t matter how simple or complicated your camera (or phone) is, or what your level of understanding is, the aim is to improve your photography.

A practical session backing up the fundamentals of close-up and macro photography.

A wide range of useful accessories and how to use them is available to test on your Nikon gear.

4th August Still Life Photography Practical Session. Being led by member Cliff Ferguson.

18th August Table top sessions, following the popularity of our table top sessions on the 7th July, this is a similar set of sessions, but with new material. Subjects include post-product methods using Photoshop and Nikon Studio (Cliff and Frank), Back to Basics (part 2) Barry) and Macro (Roger)

Barry’s session will include a hand-out as a reminder of the key points discussed last time and we will discuss which Shutter Speeds, Apertures and ISO settings are best for your chosen subjects. If you have a photo or two that didn’t turn out as you expected (we all have them!) bring them along on a memory stick and we will try to see what went wrong and why,
